In July, 2015 the Texas State University Students lead another amazing Geek Camp. Learners between the ages of 10-18 became historians, writers, and videographers. The learners researched their village and created digital movies. As far as we know, this is the first official documentation of the history of Chintsa East created by the young people of the community. Throughout the week, we invited guest speakers from the community who spoke to the learners about the history of Chintsa (political, sports, cultural and education). The learners began by creating a community map and then identifying questions they were interested in learning more about. They searched for answers to their questions by talking to each other and reaching out to other adults. On day three of the camp, we took a community walk where the learners took pictures, interviewed key people, and made note of the many important aspects of Chintsa East. On day five, the learners presented their digital movies. Below are several of the learners' movies. Please feel free to add comments.
